The Leicestershire Fieldworkers provide a variety of resources for people interested in community archaeology and the archaeology of Leicestershire and Rutland.
Supplies for Fieldworkers
We can provide free plastic finds bags and pens to any of our affiliated groups who need them. If you need supplies, please contact us.
Fieldwork Guides
We have produced a number of fieldwork guides to aid community archaeology groups across the county and beyond.
Find Identification Guides
We are pleased to host a series of pottery and flint identification guides originally created for the South East Leicestershire Treasure Project and sponsored by the Heritage Lottery Fund and other funding bodies, details of which can be found at the foot of each sheet.
Leicestershire Landscapes
Papers presented to the 25th anniversary conference of the Leicestershire Museums Archaeological Fieldwork Group, held on 7th and 8th September 2001 at the University of Leicester. The papers attempted to synthesise the most recent knowledge of Leicestershire and Rutland’s archaeology at the beginning of the 21st century.
Publications
We have a monograph series which publishes research on Leicestershire and Rutland archaeology, including the final volumes of Robert F Hartley’s epic earthworks series and thematic volumes including Leicestershire Landscapes and Medieval Leicestershire.
