50th Anniversary

For half a century, the Leicestershire Fieldworkers have played a vital role in uncovering, understanding and protecting the rich archaeological heritage of Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.

To celebrate our 50th Anniversary, we have partnered with Leicestershire Museum Collections to organise a series of special exhibitions and events across the County.

The Fieldworker Archive

Since the Leicestershire Fieldworkers began in 1976, we have regularly issued a newsletter – The Fieldworker – to our members, containing a round-up of archaeological news and events from around Leicestershire and Rutland. To celebrate our 50th Anniversary, we have digitised our entire archive of newsletters and made them available to download below.
